Legal basis
The Cyprus Citizenship Program, operating under the “Scheme for Naturalisation of Investors in Cyprus by Exception” as outlined in Section 111A (2) of the Civil Registry Laws of 2002-2013, has become one of the fastest in Europe. This is in accordance with a Council of Ministers decision dated March 19, 2014. Since May 24, 2013, as per subsection (2) of section 111A of the Civil Registry Laws of 2002-2013, the Cyprus Council of Ministers holds the authority to confer citizenship by naturalization to foreign entrepreneurs. This highlights the implementation of favorable immigration policies, making the acquisition of Cyprus Citizenship through Investment more accessible. Recent regulations have streamlined the entire process, reducing both time and formalities.
Moreover, the legislation permits the granting of Cypriot citizenship to the spouse and financially dependent adult children of the investor. Neither the spouse nor the children need to meet any additional financial criteria.
